Margarita Celmina, conductor

Margarita Dudčaka comes from Latvia, a country known as a “singing nation”. She was active there as a conductor and singer, but now lives in the Netherlands.

Margarita's musical interests include a wide repertoire, from baroque to contemporary compositions. Her extensive knowledge of various musical styles and performance techniques has enabled her to participate in a number of interdisciplinary art projects. She lives out her passion for contemporary music by collaborating with composers and performing their works.

Margarita has been studying at the University of Applied Sciences since September 2020 Conservatorium Maastricht majoring in singing with teachers Frans Kokkelmans and Yvonne Schiffelers. She played the role of Peaseblossom in Benjamin Brittens Midzomernachtdroom produced by Opera Zuid.

In addition to her work as a soloist, Margarita also sings Studium Chorale, Omnes Terminos and other ensembles. In September 2022 she won with organist Jeroen Pijpers the 2nd prize in the 6de Internationale Orgel-Zang-Competitie in Neuss, Germany.

Margarita has been the conductor of Vocaal Ensemble Kerkrade since October 1, 2023.
